The opportunity

A growing category with no clear original.

The demand for swing bars on Amazon.de was real and rising — driven by an aging, health-conscious audience of women 40+ dealing with back pain and looking for low-impact ways to stay active. But every product on the market looked the same: generic listings, no brand identity, and nothing that felt like it was made for them. Nobody had claimed the category. There was a clear opportunity to plant a flag, price above the market, and build a brand that felt like the only serious choice — the original.

How I built it

One product, one category,
one clear original.

Most Amazon brands compete on price or volume. swingfit® competed on identity. From day one, every decision — naming, pricing, packaging, content — was built around a single idea: being the original swing bar brand in Germany.

01.

Brand & Positioning

Before a single listing went live, I defined what swingfit® stood for: the original swing bar, built specifically for active women 40+ dealing with back pain who wanted a real, lasting solution. I priced deliberately above the market average — not despite the competition, but because of it. A higher price point signaled quality and reinforced the "original" narrative, making every cheaper alternative look exactly like what it was: a copy.

02.

Product & Packaging

Where competitors sold a bar and nothing else, swingfit® delivered a complete, branded experience in one box. Every order included a carrying bag, resistance bands, and a branded training plan — everything the customer needed, nothing left to figure out. Every item was clearly branded, turning the unboxing into a brand moment and making swingfit® feel premium from the first touch.

03.

Listing & Creative

I treated the Amazon listing as swingfit®'s storefront. Every image, every bullet point, and every A+ content section was crafted to speak directly to the audience — not the algorithm. The "original" positioning ran through everything, making every competitor look like a knock-off by comparison.

Customer review summary with ratings, photos of a swing stick exercise tool, and a top review in German.

04.

Community & Review Strategy

I didn't wait for reviews to come to me. I went into Facebook groups where women were actively discussing back pain, offered them the product to try for free, and let the results speak for themselves. Real people, real pain points, real feedback — and a review base that gave swingfit® instant credibility in a crowded category.

05.

Category Expansion

Once the swing bar was established, I extended into adjacent products — a hula hoop and a Pilates ball — that served the same 40+ female audience. Each product reinforced the brand rather than diluting it, growing basket size and keeping swingfit® relevant across the full home fitness routine.
