The opportunity
A space most sellers were afraid to enter.
Amazon's Small & Light program offered enormous volume — but razor-thin margins made most sellers walk away. The math was brutal if you didn't know what you were doing. Household, automotive, and baby products had massive demand, fragmented competition, and no brand that stood for something. The opportunity was to build a brand that looked and felt like it had been a trusted German household name for over fifty years. In a sea of generic listings, that kind of perceived heritage was worth more than any ad budget.
How I built it
Mass catalogue, uncompromising quality.
Neufeld wasn't built around one hero product — it was built around a system. Twenty-plus products across household, automotive, and baby, all under €10, all sourced from European suppliers, all carrying the same brand promise.
01.
The Name as a Marketing Tool
"Neu" means "new" in German — and anyone scrolling Amazon or eBay knows that instinct: new is better, new is worth clicking. I built that trigger directly into the brand name. Every time a shopper saw a Neufeld listing, their brain had already done half the work before reading the title.

02.
Positioning & Quality Promise
Neufeld was positioned as a heritage German quality brand — designed to look and feel established, backed by European suppliers, and held to higher standards than the generic competition. Under €10, but never cheap. That contrast was the brand's edge.
03.
Catalogue Strategy & Product Intelligence
I identified high-volume opportunities across three categories and built them out systematically. But what set each product apart was the thinking behind the bundle — always looking for the missing piece nobody else included. Take curtain rollers: everyone sold 100 pieces per package, nothing else. I was the first in the German market to offer 120 pieces plus 6 stoppers — because customers were improvising with paper just to keep curtains in place. More quantity, plus the accessory nobody bothered to include. That one decision took the product to bestseller within three months and over 2,000 units sold per month. That was the Neufeld formula: find the gap inside the gap.

04.
Platform Vision
Neufeld launched on Amazon.de and expanded across all European Amazon marketplaces — but the vision was always bigger. The brand was built from day one with multi-platform distribution in mind. Amazon was the starting point, not the ceiling.
05.
Category Expansion
Category Expansion Once the swing bar was established, I extended into adjacent products — a hula hoop and a Pilates ball — that served the same 40+ female audience. Each product reinforced the brand rather than diluting it, growing basket size and keeping swingfit® relevant across the full home fitness routine.
